Jennifer Lopez donates one million to Puerto Rico’s hurricane relief and launched Somos Una Voz (We Are One Voice) with ex-husband Marc Anthony.

The Somos Una Voz is created for “artists to work together and rush food, shelter, medicine, power and communications to those in need from the effects of recent natural disasters”.

Over 30 celebrities such as Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, Pitbull and Luis Fonsi participated in the event and encourage their over 1 billion followers combine to come together, offer donations and bring hope and relief to the people that need it most.

Jennifer Lopez also donated one million to Puerto Rico for relief and created a video on Instagram asking for help and to join her in this process.

“Today, Puerto Rico needs our help. I urge you to support and donate to the efforts of the First Lady of Puerto Rico, Beatriz Areizaga,” Lopez said on her Instagram post. “Together we can help rebuild our island, and the Caribbean.”


Other than Lopez, there are other artists who are encouraging their followers to support and help the disaster areas. Actor John Leguizamo is promoting a solar powered lighting devices to disaster areas. Artist Pitbull lent his own jet to transport cancer patients from Puerto Rico to New York. Daddy Yankee donated $100,000 to Feeding America and another $100,000 to Red Cross.
